I have an Akita mix, and I have read that they are more likely to get seasonal allergies. But every year about this time she just scratches and scratches. I have given her oatmeal baths, which seems to help for a bit. I have thought about giving her just regular old benedryl, but I am not sure how much to give (she weighs maybe 50 lbs). I feed my 4 month French Bulldog puppy Natural Balance Duck + Potato. I notice that he scratches his back paws and lower belly area quite often. He has a couple of small red spots on his belly. Could this be a food allergy or fleas? I have cleaned my house thoroughly and recently bath him and checked his coat and found no traces of fleas.

The pet food store recommended Wellness Venison + Rice food. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good allergy food or any other ideas?
