I’ve heard thatusing lavender oil hasaneffect ondust mites andvacuuming yourmattress andpillows each time youchange thebedding,whichshouldbea minimum ofonce a week especially forsomeone withallergies,canhelp.
Also,purchasea product likeEndust whichwillhelpyoueliminate dust inyourroom andcheck everyday fordust deposits andifyouhavetodust everyday.
I usea vacuum witha high power vacuum thathasa hepa filter. I’m allergic tocats/dogs anddust andI have4 cats,2 dogs andlive ina construction zone currently andthishelps!

Therearenumerous organic products thatKilldust mites. Myallergist sold meone thatcontains tea initanditseem todoa greatjob. Thebest method istoreally keep a cleanhouse. Here aresomethings myallergist stated todo
1) Keep thehouse dry,atless than50 percent humidity. Set thethermostat below 70 degrees. Dust mites increase inhumid,warm conditions.
2) Wash bedding andwashable rugs often,sodust mites donotcollect inthem. Include sheets,mattress covers,comforters,pillows andpillowcases.
3) Add air purifiers withHEPA filters,tohelpremove dust particles.
4) Seal box springs,pillows andthemattresses inzippered dust- andallergen-proof covers.
5) Eliminate thedust andgrime fromceiling fans andvacuum anydust thatmayfall tothefloor.
6) Vacuum “what-nots,”louvered doors andpleated lampshades. Usea brush attachment.
7) Reduce oreliminate fabric wall hangings.
8)Useplastic shades instead ofdrapes,blinds orcurtains onwindows. Orputdryer-safe curtains anddrapes intothedryer forseveral minutes toremove dust. Usetheair setting. Usea clean,newpaint brush todust mini blinds.
9) Buymachine-washable stuffed toys.
10) Vacuum upholstered furniture often,orreplace theupholstered furniture withplastic orwooden furniture. Geta professional toregularly cleanlarge area rugs.
11) Usea vacuum attachment orlong-handled,dampened dust mop tocleanunder furniture,incorners andinclosets.
12) Replace thecarpet witha wooden ortile floor.
