All it can do is make you tear up temporarily. But rubbing can cause more serious problems like Stye (or other eye infections) or cornal abrasions. But rubbing can cause more serious problems like Stye (or other eye infections) or cornal abrasions.

If I were you, I would just tough it out, or up your allergy medications.
