Insurance mightcover them….It’s basically a prick test. Theyinject a littlebit oftheallergen intoyouandyoubasically wait tosee ifyouhavea reaction. I’ve hadthemdone many times…
I worked atanallergy office fora short time butitwasalong time ago .. butfromwhati remeber thetest really isnt thatexpensive andthetest itsself alltheydoisgive youa prick test …theneedles ( whicharenotatallbig) arejustpricked inyourskin withtheallergy sollution ratheritbea flower orpollen anyway theyprick youwithitNoitdoesnt hurt( feels likeaninsect bite) andifthearea gets red,itchy orswollen thenthattellthedoctor yes youareallergic towhatever thearea shows…Thedoctor cantest youfornumerous things sogogettested itdoesnt hurtandyouwillknow whattoavoid …. I’m sorry thisisn’t going toansweryourquestion,butdoyougetthiswithwine aswell? Itcouldalsobea sulfite allergy. Theyspray allshrimp withsulfites toprevent black spot.

AskyourAllergist tolist out theparticular blood panels thatneeds tobedone…. call yourinsurance FIRST tosee ifthey’ll cover someoftheexpense. Someoftheblood panels canbecostly…better tocheck first.
Thereisa significant differenceinthe“patch”or“stick”test forskin allergies (whicharecalled Contact Dermatitis) andtheblood panels needed tocheck forserious allergies thatcancause anaphylactic shock such asDairy,Shell fish (shrimp),Latex,Peanuts.
Theyare“Very”expen$ive! Around $1000. now!
