I wash mybedding weekly andeverynight I spray febreeze antimicrobrial spray onmybedding inthemorning. Ithelps togetrid ofthedust mites. Itworks well
Doyourself andfavor and“invest”$20-$30 ina nice waterproof mattress pad.. Thatwillhelp,keep yournewmattress cleanandifanyspills,accidents etc.. happen yourmattress willbespared…Youjustwash themattress cover…Ifyouareworried ofdust mites youcangeta waterproof mattress cover thatactually encloses themattress sothere’s a barrier between youandthemattress…I liketovacuum mymattress once a week whenI change mybedding.. . I launder mycomforter/duvet/ down comforter aboutonce a month.. I usually wash myduvet withmybed linens…Ifyouhavebrightcolored bedding usea gentle detergent/coldwater wash/rinse.. Thatwillhelpkeep itlooking nice…Goodluck
wash once a week –aslong asyoudidn’t gotosleep sweaty ;) i wuld rotate andvacuum yourmattress twice a year –i choosebefore Christmas andEaster. whenitcomes tothewashing useeitheranallfabric bleach ORBorax (myfavorite) ANDtoss about1/4 to1/2 cup ofinxpensive white vineager inthewash cycle —ithelps hold inthecolor andisa natural disenfectant! noyourstuff won’t smell fromit–don’t worry:) oh also,whenyoudothemattress flip –wash yourmattress pad too!

Theyrecommended washing everything once a week,butthecrucial thing tocontrol mites wastouseanallergenic pillowcase toprotect yourpillow frominfestation,andtoreplace yourpillow once a year. Youshouldalsohavea protective liner tomakeyourmattress impermeable tothelittlebuggers. I wassogrossed out byitallI ran out andboughtnewpillows forthefamily andliners forallthebeds. Mykids aregetting newmattresses today (different reason) andwearegetting newliners justfortheoccasion!
