Do you know of a good medicine for a child’s stuffy nose?

up_all_night asked:

Over time, we have tried most children’s cold medicines from store shelves. Does anyone know of a good nasal spray that a child can take? (OTHER than saline) My 5 yr old’s nose always seems stuffy during allergy season and most medicines help her for about an hour then it all comes back. I try keeping her well hydrated, because I know that helps as well. I’d appreciate your ideas. Thanks.

    Peppermint!
I use peppermint extract oil which is way to strong for a kid, me to if to much! But the candy to suck on clears the nose right up!
Not hard to get a kid to eat candy hu?
Ya there is the teeth thing, but it is better then the chemicals in that medicine right? A drop of peppermint oil in water does the same thing!

The peppermint oil can be bought in any baking isle of a store. Put into many different things anyhoo it does the trick! It lasts a long time too, a dab will do ya!

    Wish you well!

My son has been the same way since he was 4 ….he has bad allergies and is allergic to everything under the sun….lol…..he is on allergy injections weekly and has been taking Nasonex …..perscribed by his allergist…which has helped a great deal…..you could also run a humidifier …..i used to use that all the time…it would help some…talk to your pediatrician…..that is the best way to go …you need to try and figure out what the cause of the stuffy nose is before perscribing or taking different types of medicines……Good Luck :)
